As I sit here checking bank account balances and writing checks to go pay bills tomorrow, I realize two things. One: I live the life of a middle aged man, and two: my God is so, so faithful to provide for His children.
I knew from the first time that I stepped onto the UT Martin campus that this is where He wanted me to spend my college years. This knowledge has only been solidified by the outpouring of blessings that I have experienced over the past two years. Whether it be in the form of a scholarship, a job, a cancelled class, or just an encouraging conversation with a friend, I am reminded daily that UTM is my mission field.
I don’t say enough how thankful I am for this life I’ve been blessed with, and how awesome and amazing and wonderful that our God is.
Oh, and I also was a member of the first game winning BCM intramural softball team. Nbd.
It’s 3am on a Tuesday morning and naturally I should be doing other things, like sleeping or homework, but still I’m sitting here writing this post that I’m sure that only like four people will read. (I know this because I’m a very popular name in the Tumblr community obv.) This past school year has really been a roller coaster of events, but if all of that is what I had to go through to get to where I have been for the past two months, then I am perfectly content with that. The following are some of the things that I have learned:
- If you park illegally for long enough, you WILL get a ticket.
- Bridesmaids is the best movie ever, and I can quote it word for word.
- Dramatic sayings like “When God closes a door, He always opens a window” are true.
- My next door neighbor is an idiot.
- When you have a problem with a person, check yourself first to make sure you’re not the one causing the problem.
- Regardless of what anyone else thinks, I am important to God.
- My group of friends is the rowdiest, funniest, most sarcastic group of people that I know.
- No matter how much you think you don’t care, it’s always going to hurt when someone tells you that they wish they had never met you.
- It’s possible to get from UTM to the Parkers Crossroads exit on I-40 in 47 minutes.
- Laughter really is the best medicine.
- Living within walking distance of Kelsi Clark, Will Arnold, John Gill, Brittney Wilhite and Leslie Jeannine Alexander is the greatest.
- Facebook stalking > homework. Always.
This isn’t all I’ve learned, but it’s just a little taste. I’m so blessed to have the opportunity to be a student here at UTM, and I can’t imagine being anywhere else in the world right now! The Lord is ALWAYS faithful to provide, and He makes all things work together for the good of those who love Him. I’m also thankful for the friends that God has brought me together with recently. I’m so amazed at how I have found people with the same weirdly sarcastic sense of humor as me, who shine the light of Christ so evidently in their lives! I’m thankful for people who love me like Christ loved them. If home is where the heart is, then my home right now is in Martin, Tennessee. I’m also so blessed to have an amazing family at my legit home who have raised me up to be independent and responsible. We may not always agree, but I know that at the end of the day, I am loved unconditionally and supported wholeheartedly by my parents. My heart is just full of things right now, and I’ve been shown so much by God recently.
I hope that this post doesn’t seem all ramble-y and weird, but I just have a lot of feelings. YOLO.

I love weekends like this when everyone is home and we just hang out and talk and laugh and just get to enjoy each other’s company. I also love that I have a beyond awesome fam to go back to in Martin. I just really love life right now. #friends
I just accidentally posted this as just a title. Can I take a class in Tumblr? #lucasprobz
